If you haven’t already heard, there’s a new holiday in town this year– so feel free to wish someone a Happy Thanksgivukkah. Thanksgiving and the first day of Hanukkah are happening simultaneously this year.

According to Mike Evans of the Jerusalem Prayer Team, this hasn’t happened since the nineteenth century and won’t happen again for about 77,000 years. So don’t waste this golden opportunity to celebrate the Jewish festival of lights and indulge in a feast of thankfulness (while remembering those who don’t have enough to eat).

It’s especially important that we Americans stand by our ally Israel at this time due to the grave threats they face, be it nuclear annihilation, genocide, terrorism, economic sanctions, etc. Our government’s leadership is walking away from them right now, which could not only enable another holocaust, but threaten our country’s security since God said He would bless those who bless them– and vice versa.

To learn more about Hanukkah, go here. The History Channel has some fun stuff on Thanksgiving too.

As sites all over the web declare this week– Gobble Tov!

The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts.  No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.  –H.U. Westermayer
