If you haven’t already heard, there’s a new holiday in town this year– so feel free to wish someone a Happy Thanksgivukkah. Thanksgiving and the first day of Hanukkah are happening simultaneously this year.

According to Mike Evans of the Jerusalem Prayer Team, this hasn’t happened since the nineteenth century and won’t happen again for about 77,000 years. So don’t waste this golden opportunity to celebrate the Jewish festival of lights and indulge in a feast of thankfulness (while remembering those who don’t have enough to eat). (more…)

Once again, the creative souls that decorate the cow and coyote sculpture in downtown Kirkland have been at work. This time we have a bovine pilgrim and a howlin’ turkey to gaze upon.
