Years ago, while looking through some personal effects of my great-grandmother’s, I found this New Year’s poem that has a relative’s name at the bottom. I don’t know if he is the actual author; I found this elsewhere on the web attributed to “author unknown.”
This is a beautiful statement of hope for the new year. Given what the world may have in store for humanity in 2012, it is a calming reminder that all of our trials are in our Maker’s hands. Even if the world does come to a so-called end, it’s only the end of an era, and a new beginning for those who put their faith in Him.
I do not mean to belittle the trials that our fellow human beings may endure; not at all. All of creation needs prayers and healing like never before. I do want to remind my spiritual siblings that nothing can separate us from His love– not war, not hate, not environmental catastrophe, not corruption, not even death. He offers this ultra-fortified protection freely to everyone.
Personally I believe that 2012 is going to be a year of unmerited favor and unprecedented blessings. I believe that light will pour into dark places. I believe that long journeys of sorrow will be transformed into jubilation. I believe that we will experience God’s presence in ways that we never have before. Doors that have been sealed will open, and gaping wounds will finally be healed.
It’s all in His hands… the Keeper and King of the Open Door. I am so glad that someone stronger and more reliable than me has my future and the future of those I love in His omnipotent hands. That can bring peace no matter what our circumstances.

Dear Wildninja,
My spirit concurs with yours. The fountain of goodness will open up this coming year to make a final cleansing and gathering of humanity that want to be on God’s side. Let us work harder in the harvest fields.
Have a blessed New Year!
