The Orca Project has reported that Tokitae (aka Lolita) has been ill and the Miami Seaquarium won’t release details about her condition.
A news release from The Orca Network says that she has recovered, but there still aren’t any details.

Tokitae has been dancing for food in a substandard tank for more than 40 years now, far longer than orcas usually survive in captivity. She was born wild and captured near Whidbey Island, Washington. For years advocates have been trying to bring her home where she belongs.
The Orca Project has this amazing video posted as part of the first article above.
Get to know your orca neighbors! They’ve been here far longer than we have and some of them are much older than we are.
